Cutting-edge newsmagazine show providing today’s most compelling examination of the world of sports by delivering a 360º look into star profiles, sports innovations, emerging sports and technology. The show takes the viewer beyond the story in many ways including bringing them into the show pitch process with the reporters and producers.

ESPN2’s morning show with a mix of highlights, analysis, field reports, interviews, breaking news, opinion and long-form debate
- Rome is Burning
Jim Rome offers his opinionated views of the sports world in his daily program featuring interviews and discussions
- Mike and Mike in the Morning
Live simulcast of ESPN Radio’s hit morning show hosted by Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic. Show includes a mix of live guests, analysis, breaking sports news and opinion all presented in a quick and entertaining format.
- Pardon the Interruption
Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon host this fast-paced, innovative and humorous program to the days’ hot topics and issues.
Original Films/Programming
- Greatest Game Ever Played
Hosted by Chris Berman, The Greatest Game Ever Played explores the 1958 game played between the Baltimore Colts and New York Giants at Yankee Stadium for the NFL championship. ESPN Films has created an unprecedented look at this landmark event that commemorates its 50th anniversary. The Greatest Game Ever Played will be televised Saturday, Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN, immediately following the Heisman Trophy presentation.
- SportsNation
A daily one-hour sports studio show that is scheduled to begin in July 2009. This is the first studio show fully developed using alternate platform fan involvement as the driving force for content. Fans decide the rundown of the show!
- “30 for 30”
In celebration of ESPN’s 30th anniversary, ESPN is inviting 30 directors to each film a one-hour sports documentary. “30 for 30” will begin airing in October 2009, and will air throughout 2010.
- Homecoming
An hour-long series on ESPN in which Rick Reilly travels back with athletes to their hometowns for a visit and conversation. The Series is set to debut in early 2009.
- Timeline
Timeline is a nightly conversation about the most remarkable things to happen in sports and beyond in the last five hours of the day (7pm-12am ET). The running theme, reinforced graphically, is the actual time the event occurred (as in a live blog or a Bill Simmons diary), which then leads to discussion. Timeline is scheduled to launch April 2009 and will air at 12 midnight (ET) Monday through Friday (re-airs 5AM ET) on ESPN2.
- Black Magic
A two-part, three hour film about the injustice which defined the civil rights movement in America, as told through the lives of basketball players and coaches who attended Historical Black Colleges and Universities.
Special Event Programming
- Tribeca Film Festival (Tribeca ESPN Sports Film Festival)
2009 marks the third year of the ESPN and the Tribeca Film Festival partnership – a collaboration that joins the passion and excitement of sports and film. The Tribeca ESPN Sports Film Festival runs from April 22nd – May 3rd, 2009 and provides sponsors with unique multimedia opportunities surrounding this premier event where sports and entertainment merge.
- New Years, No Limits
ESPN will produce one 90 minute show to ring in the New Year set to air December 31, 2008 (11pm – 12:30am EST). The event will be shot live from the Las Vegas strip and will highlight two death-defying, world-record breaking stunts performed by two of actions sport’s top athletes. The 2007 “New Year, No Limits” event was the leading New Year’s Eve program on cable television, producing 3.1 HH rating.
- World Series of Poker
Is reformatted to create suspense by not crowning a winner until the day the show airs on ESPN.
- World Series of Poker Europe
Set to air in the spring of 2009 with some familiar faces at the final table.
